
Stanley Jack Carroll passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at home in Lincoln. Jack was born August 19th, 1938 in McCook to Frank and Freda Carroll. He graduated from Red Willow High School in 1956 and began his career with CB&Q Railroad in McCook and Denver, CO, later switching to Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha and North Platte, where he retired in 2000 after 44 years as a Carman. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and fixing anything. He played pool for many years with the North Platte Men’s Pool League on the Eagles Club No. 1 Team. Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly; children Rod (Mona) Kokomo, IN; Kathy (Jim Wimmer) Palmyra, NE; Becky (Kelly) Murphy Lincoln, NE; Cyndi (Dale) Pool New Hartford, IA; eleven grandchildren: Kirsten Milliron; Levi Milliron; Autumn Carroll; Zach Carroll; Amanda Carroll Jones; Aaron Murphy, Sean Murphy, Andrew Murphy; Noel Murphy; Raychel Pool; Royce Pool; and four great grandchildren Donovan Murphy; Liam Murphy; Kamdyn Pool; and Kennasyn Weber. He is also survived by his brother Bob Carroll; sisters Dorothy (Kyle) Anderson; Marilyn Johnson and Alice (Bob) Rigo; sister-in-law Shirley (Jay) Nichols; and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents; his brother Frankie and sister Ruth (Don) Hagan. Memorial Service 3:00 pm Wednesday at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to go to the family for later designation.
