

He was born to Patrick and Arlene O’Donnell on December 1, 1934 in Beatrice, NE. He was married on September 10, 1961 to Mary Jo Ball for 48 wonderful years, and had one son, Shawn Dalton O’Donnell. Jack began his career as a butcher for Heffelfingers in Beatrice. He continued in the meat cutting business working at the Beatrice Super Market, Maxwell’s in Shenandoah, Iowa, both Kleins and Leons in Lincoln, and the meat packing plant in Seward. Jack also enjoyed driving a bus for Lincoln Public Schools and the handi-van for Gateway Manor. He was recently employed at the Eagle Parking garage. Jack was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Husker fan! With his Irish charm, he made friends wherever he went and enjoyed having coffee and doughnuts with his numerous friends. Most of all, nothing brightened his day more than receiving hugs and kisses from his great and great great nieces and nephews.
Jack is survived by his brothers and spouses Bob & Shirley O’Donnell, Fremont; Pat & Sandy O’Donnell, Lincoln; sisters in law Ruth O’Donnell, Beatrice; Marvel Hausman, Lincoln; nieces and spouses Carla Johnson & Rob Obst and Cari & Frank Hargitt, Lincoln; Cindy Knight and Shelley & Jayme Malone, Lincoln; Charissa & Rick Downey, Michigan; nephews & spouses Todd & Vanessa O’Donnell, New Jersey; Brian & Nicole O’Donnell, Lincoln; Scott O’Donnell, Beatrice; great nieces & spouse, Marci & Chris DeAmbrose; Briana Williams; Sydney Johnson; great nephew & spouse, Ryan & Janice Malone; Avery Johnson, Kaden Obst, Collin Hargitt and Chase Hargitt.
