Jackie "Jack" Harris

Jackie R. (Jack) Harris, age 72, of Lincoln, Nebraska. He passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 after a long battle with Dementia. He was born in Troy, KS and graduated from Crete High School in 1964. Jack served in the Naval Reserves from 1962-1964 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard from 1964-1968. He retired from Time Warner Cable as a Construction Manager after 30 years in the cable industry. Jack loved Husker football and Cubs baseball, traveling, bowling and attending his grandchildren’s many activities and sporting events. Survived by wife of 48 years, Belva; daughters, Angela (Kris) McCoy, Jackie Yelkin and honorary daughter, LaDonna (David) Freauf; grandchildren, Bryce Harris, Kaden McCoy, Sammi Yelkin and Eddie Yelkin all of Lincoln, NE; brothers, Art (Joni) Blanton of Estes Park, CO, Ray (Melda) Bailey of Temecula, CA, Charles Rhea of Indio, CA; sisters, Adella (Mark) Hoffman of Estes Park, CO, Bev Blanton of Bellevue, NE, Liz (Duane) Yonkey of Lincoln, NE, Shirley (Gene) Foster of Bella Vista, AR, Samie (Dick) Anderson of Lincoln, NE; special sister, Rose Dillow of Lincoln, NE, and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces that were loved dearly. Preceded in death by mother, Frances Rhea; step-fathers, Edgar Blanton and Morris Rhea; brothers, Butch Cannon and Kenny Blanton and sister, Sally Noyes. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and nurses from Asera Care and Care Consultants for their wonderful loving care. Memorials suggested to the family for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s/ Alzheimer’s Assoc for his “Jack’s Angels” Team. Jack would love to have everyone wear their Husker Gear.
