

James met the love of his life Mary Ann and was married April 18, 1961 in Miami, OK. They lived in Northwest Arkansas and had three children Deana, Jimmy and Michelle.
James worked as an over the road truck driver his entire life. A job that took him across the United States and into Canada. His first job was with Palmer & Son out of Pea Ridge, AR. He went on to work for Cawood Produce, Willis Shaw and Yellow before moving his family to North Platte, NE in 1972 to work for Consolidated Freightways. A job transfer took the family to Lincoln, NE in 1980. James’ job took him and Mary Ann to Las Vegas, NV and Bonner Springs, KS before James’ retirement in 2002. They returned to Lincoln, NE to live closer to their kids.
James was a Master Mason with over 54 years of membership. He was most recently affiliated with the North Star Lodge #227 A.F. & A.M of Nebraska. James was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry-Valley of Fayetteville, AR.
James loved to listen to country music and would go to Branson with Mary Ann to see some of their favorite performers. When they could no longer travel, they loved to spend Saturday nights watching country music variety shows on television. James also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and puttering around the yard or garage. He loved spending time with family especially his kids and grandkids.
James is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann, his parents Mack and Mada, his sister Barbara Casey and his son-in-law Patrick Torres.
James is survived by his three children; Deana Torres (Steve Morrell) of Lone Grove, OK, Jimmy (Angie) Dean of Lincoln, NE and Michelle (Troy) Davis of Lincoln, NE., grandchildren: Van Torres (Katie Rutherford) of Calhan CO, Michaela Dean of Lincoln, NE, Jillian Dean of Lincoln, NE, Joseph (Brianna) Torres of Chandler, OK, Cody (Samantha) Davis of Lincoln, NE and Britny Davis of Lincoln, NE., great grandchildren: Nathan Torres, Easton Torres and Manuel Pulido of Millsap, TX, Bristol Torres and Shiloh Torres of Chandler, OK., sisters: Sharon (Jim) Schooley of Kansas City, KS and JoAnn Bailey of Bentonville, AR.
James will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren.
