Survived by wife of 64 years, Peggy (Teachout) Whitehurst; daughters, Deanna M. (Charles) Jaymes, Donna L. (Doug) Debban, Alicia W. (Robert) Fechtmeister, Amy L. (Troy) Frankforter and Joyce (Wayne) Lee; son, Alan (Darlene) Budt; 19 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren, and many close friends and extended family. Wally retired as a Major in the Air Force after 20 years of service. He fought in the Korean war (1 tour) and the Vietnam war (2 tours). He was a navigator/radar bombardier. Wally flew the B-29, KC-97, B-47, and ended his career in the Air Force flying a B-52. Wally showed his love of barbershop music as a member of the Lincoln Continentals Chapter of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., for 34 years. He made many cherished friendships along the way. Preceded in death by his son; mother and father; two sisters and one brother.
VISITATION Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2-4pm and FUNERAL SERVICE Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10am with all services at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Kidder of Belmont Baptist Church of which Wally and Peggy are members. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service.
