John H. Haase, 93, of Lincoln passed away July 9, 2020. He was born on August 1, 1926 in Ogden, Utah to Carl and Matilda (Rolfsmeier) Haase. His baptism took place at Beaver Crossing Evangelical Lutheran Church on September 11, 1927. He was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Seward, NE on April 6, 1941.
He attended St. John Lutheran School and received his eighth-grade diploma on June 1, 1941. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in 1944-45. He received his high school diploma on January 23, 1948.
He married Delores Ficken on June 14, 1947. He worked at several different jobs, ending with Greyhound Foods at the Goodyear plant in Lincoln, NE. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving in several different roles including Sunday school superintendent for many years. Upon retirement he drove for Rider Trucks and served with Builders For Christ. He also worked as a Lamplighter for Aid Association for Lutherans.
Survivors include his daughters Wanda (Rev Michael) Gruhn of College Station, TX and Pat Haase of Lincoln; grandchildren Stephanie (Rev. Travis) Pittock of Ft. Worth and Allison (Rev. Mark) Moldenhauer of Brenham, TX; six great-grandchildren Eliya, Gabriel, Rachel, Miciah, Joanna and Nathaniel Moldenhauer of Brenham, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, two great-grandchildren Jonah and Samantha Pittock, his brother Robert, and his sister Dorothy Stearn.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Tabitha Hospice of Lincoln.
