John B Higgins

A purveyor of great stories, beautiful birds, nail-biting baseball games, big fish, prized Brittany Bird Dogs, a hot cup of coffee, and a really good bargain, John “Jack” B. Higgins, was a great friend, dad, husband, grandpa, mentor...and...man, who will be dearly remembered.

Truly devoted...to long weekends of unpredictable Nebraska Field Trial weather as long standing President of the Association...to Nebraska football, basketball, and volleyball, to the College World Series and to Hy-Vee Deli Chinese cuisine that was thrifty, yet satisfying.

Jack made a lot of good friends, and serendipitously made a lot of good friends money as a Division Vice President and Certified Financial Planner for IDS/Ameriprise Financial Services, where he worked for nearly 30 years.

Jack loved Nature and spent most of his life on an adventure with it and a good friend.

Loving husband to Su Allen, proud father to Rob, stepsons Shane (Pam), Todd (Cathy), Nathan (Krescene), dedicated grandpa to Addie and Miranda, nine step grandchildren, uncle to Doug, Kelly, Megan, and formerly married to Mary Lou. And frankly, Jack was one of the best friends a person could ask for in this lifetime, and as far as human beings go, he was what we like to call...spectacular.

Jack will be reunited with his parents, Lyle and Betty, sister Jill, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends, all of whom have been eagerly awaiting his arrival!

Please join us in a Celebration of this great man’s Life at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home (6800 S 14th St) Lincoln, NE on December 27th at 10am. Lunch and conversation will follow.

It was a huge part of Jack’s life and they can always use the help, particularly now that their fearless leader has taken on his exciting new adventure…
