Joseph Robert (Bob) Quirk, 91, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016. Bob was born in Dunlap, Iowa to Ralph and Luella (Murphy) and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School. He served in the US Navy during WW II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He graduated from Boyles Business College in Omaha, Nebraska over the year’s he owned “Bob’s Pastime” Bar in Dunlap, Iowa; worked in construction and was also an over the road truck driver for more than 35 years. He was a member of the Western & Central States Union; American Legion; VFW; Armed Guard (Navy); Knights of Columbus (4th Degree); and an usher at Cathedral of the Risen Christ Church where he was very well known for handing out tootsie rolls to children and adults. Bob married Loraine Ruth Hinrichs (the love of his life) in February, 1951. They were happily married for 65 years and raised 9 children: Rickie, Joe (deceased), Kate, Jim, Nancy, Tim, Susie, John and Lori. He also had 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friends.
