Joyce Arlene Faddis was born on May 30, 1951, in Lincoln, NE to Louis and Florence (McCarthy) Faddis.
She grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1969. She then attended the University of Nebraska, receiving a bachelor’s degree in English, and a master’s degree in social work. During her college years, she spent some extended time in Europe, primarily working as a maid in Switzerland. After college, Joyce worked for 25 years as a social worker at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lincoln.
Joyce lived her entire life in Lincoln. For 30 years she lived with her soulmate, Rodney Molden.
Joyce loved her family very much. For many years, she was a companion to her mother, after her father died. Joyce especially loved her nieces and nephews, and her great-nieces and nephews. She enjoyed visiting with them, and hearing about their lives. Joyce did many elaborate needlework and cross-stitch pictures for her nieces, nephews and other family members.
After her retirement, Joyce had many close friends she enjoyed spending time with, especially in the area where she lived.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Florence Faddis; and her longtime companion, Rodney Molden.
Joyce is survived by two brothers, Richard Faddis of Phoenix, Arizona, and James (Connie) Faddis of Grand Island; one sister, Catherine Bard of Wray, Colorado; nephews and nieces, Brian (Christine) Bard, Brandon (Angela) Bard, Nathana (Mitch) Clay, Brianna (Chris) Larson and Brittany (Brandon) Okemba; and great-nephews and nieces, Ian Bard, Ava Bard, Ben Bard, Rebekah Clay, Daniel Clay and Joseph Clay.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021, 10:00 am, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
