Judy C. Sramcik (Siems), age 62, passed away peacefully after an 8 year battle with cancer, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. She passed away at home just like she always said she would, with her devoted husband by her side. Judy was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on March 5, 1956 to Doris (Smisek) & Earnest Siems. She was married to Tony Sramcik on March 10, 1979 and together they raised their daughters Holley and Katrina. They lived in many towns together, but settled on a farm outside of Sterling, NE for the last 22 years. There Judy had a passion for her garden. She loved to pressure can her fruits and veggies, while listening to and cheering on her Nebraska Football team. (Nothing ever came in the way of football Saturdays!) She loved to mow the lawn, cook for her family, and homeschool their adopted daughter Katrina, and spend lots of time with granddaughters and great granddaughters. Judy always had a kind and giving heart, always putting other’s troubles and burdens before her own. In these past 8 years of her battle with cancer, she was truly a soldier of God, always entrusting her life and health to him. In 2015, Judy and Tony were gifted with the chance to go to Lourdes, France to ask the Blessed Mother for the gift of healing of her cancer. While this was not the Lord’s intentions, she was blessed by meeting lots of new people, seeing many wonderful sights and making treasured memories. All of this helped her to pass many “expiration dates” as she liked to call them given by her doctors.
Judy is survived by her husband Tony Sramcik; Mother Doris Smisek; Father Earnest Siems; Brother Michael Siems; Daughters Holley (Sramcik) Barkin and Katrina (Sramcik) Holley; granddaughters Brooke and Ashley Barkin; great granddaughters Katherine, Sophia and Isabella Holley. Judy is preceded in death by her miscarried twins and Step-Father Earl Smisek.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 10, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 186 N. 5th St. Tecumseh, NE with a Rosary immediately after.
The funeral will be on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM also located at St. Andrew’s. Services presided by Fr. Clinch.
