

Larry D. Meierdierks, age 64, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016. He was born on February 15, 1952, to Marvin and Helen (Thompson) Meierdierks in Pender, Nebraska. Larry graduated from Pender High School in 1970 and in 1972 joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea and at Fort Riley, Kansas, and later served in the Nebraska National Guard as a helicopter repairman for the 24th Medical Company. Larry married Suzann Wingett in November 1973. After discharge from the Army, Larry attended the University of Nebraska where he was a member of the UNL Men’s Bowling Team. Larry obtained his electrical contractor and stationary engineer licenses while working at Gooch’s/ADM Pet Food in Lincoln. He worked at Novartis Consumer Health, Inc., before retiring. Larry enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, serving as an usher and volunteer at Christ Lutheran Church, and volunteering at Southlake Village Rehabilitation & Care Center. He is survived by his wife, Suzie; brothers, Marlen, David, Paul, Robert, and Mark; sister, Jan Specketer; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Marvin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Comfort Dog Ministry Fund.
