Larry was born on January 18, 1956 to Dennis and Donna Navratil in Crete, Nebraska. He graduated from Crete High School in 1974. Larry continued his education at Doane College before enlisting in the United States Air Force. His first duty station was with the 155CAM ANG in Lincoln, NE as an aircraft maintenance mechanic. He continued that passion as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance specialist & Flight Engineer on the C-141 in California at Travis AFB. He later accepted a full time position with the Nebraska National Guard where he held many titles as an aircraft mechanic on the F4 Reconnaissance Jet & KC-135 Air Refueling Aircraft. During his 35 years of service & dedication to his country he supported Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom, Global War on Terrorism, & several Humanitarian Service Efforts overseas before retiring in 2011. Larry’s work ethic, integrity, and service before self was passed onto his children making for a strong family foundation and bond. His love & dedication for Christ was displayed by his actions & morals he instilled in his family & only grew stronger as he grew older. After retirement he loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and his passion for his horses (his Girls) that he and April loved together.
Larry is survived by his sons, Benjamin (Katie) Navratil, Christopher (Sarah) Navratil, Jonathan (Abbie) Navratil, Kenneth (Jennifer) Dunlap all of Firth and daughter, Michelle Dunlap of Missouri; his siblings, Deb, Charlotte, Scott and Karen; his grandchildren, Christina, Zane, Adriana, Zachery, Ellah, Gabrielle, Conner, Colten, Brooklyn, Braxton, Elliana and Ezariah and great grandchildren, Julien, Jace and Layla. Larry is preceded in death by his loving wife, April Navratil and his parents, Dennis and Donna Navratil.

A visitation for Larry will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A reception will occur Friday, June 30, 2023 at 12:30 PM.
Serving as pallbearers are Ben Navratil, Chris Navratil, Jon Navratil, Kenny Dunlap, Zach Dunlap, Conner Navratil, Colten Navratil , Ezariah Navratil , Zane Warner , Braxton Navratil, Julien White and Jace White.
