

Len graduated from Alliance High School, where he competed in football, basketball, track and field. He held the Alliance High School record in pole vault for over thirty years. When he graduated, Len moved to Lincoln to run track and play freshman football for the University of Nebraska. A year later, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1953-1955, in Hawaii. Upon being discharged, he moved back to Lincoln, and graduated from The Lincoln School of Commerce, where he met Bev. They married in 1957.
He worked for twenty-five years for Lincoln Radiology Associates, was president of the Medical Group Management Association, and retired from his own business, Medical Management Consultants, Inc. He also was a member of the Masons, and was active in the American Legion.
He enjoyed watching all Nebraska sports, playing golf, cracking jokes, and listening to his favorite music.
Len was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Anthony and Martha Mae, and by his brother, Frederick Nicholas; half-brother, Glen Langford; and half-sister Maxine Korman.
Len is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Bev; son, Jeff, of Lincoln (grandchildren Nick, Miranda and Shane McNiel, Kelsey English; son, Brad and daughter-in-law, Melissa, of Blue Springs, Missouri (grandchildren Taylor and Melissa, Sheridan, Braeden and Lucy); daughter, Robyn and son-in-law, Jeff Frahm, of Denver (grandchildren Quinton, Ethan and Gabe); great-grandchildren, Easton and Emory Tharp, Cosette McNiel, and Parker and Maeve Beckenbach.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Leonard will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. An interment will occur Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 10:45 AM.
Leonard will be laid to rest in Lincoln Memorial Park and Cemetery, 6700 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512.
Serving as pallbearers are Nick Beckenbach, Taylor Beckenbach, Quinton Frahm, Ethan Frahm, Braeden Beckenbach, Gabe Frahm, and Shane McNiel.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Legion Post #3 or Masonic Lodge #227.
