
Lillian Edith Wyman Martin was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on October 9, 2017. She was born March 4, 1920 near Loretto, Nebraska the oldest of seven children, to Thomas and Edith Wyman. She grew up in that area and later in Bartlett, Nebraska, graduating from Wheeler County High School in 1937. She taught in a rural school for a few years, took classes at Nebraska Wesleyan University and returned to teach in the elementary school for 1-2 years until she was married to Kenneth Martin, July 3, 1944. She was faithfully by his side in ministries that included pastoring a church in Curtis, Nebraska, living on the grounds of Maranatha Bible Camp, Maxwell, Nebraska; serving on the staff of Nebraska Christian High School in Central City, Nebraska, serving at Western Bible College near Denver, Colorado and operating a Christian bookstore in Chadron, Nebraska. They retired to Ord, Nebraska for several years before moving to Lincoln in 2002. She enjoyed playing the piano, and played for church as well as accompanying singing groups while in high school and through many years after. She also like to play dominos and Scrabble and above all, enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her husband Kenneth of Lincoln, a brother Eugene (Joyce) Wyman of Omaha, five children: Sharyn (Jerry) Regier of Ashburn, Virginia, Marjorie (Wayne) Freedman of Council, Idaho, Thomas (Janell) Martin of Lincoln, Judy (Mark) Rutter of Yankton, South Dakota, and Rachel (Dennis) Dugger of Midland, Michigan, eighteen grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren.
