

Lola Kathleen “Kathy” Vokoun née Van Eperen, was born May 15, 1951 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Kathy was raised on a farm near Firth, Nebraska by Donald and JoAnn Clough. She passed away on December 31, 2025 in Lincoln.
Kathy attended Norris High School, graduating in 1969. She first met Bruce Vokoun while in high school through mutual friends. Married in 1970, Kathy and Bruce lived briefly in western Nebraska and Iowa before returning to the Lincoln area and starting their family.
Close friends were considered family and visiting with them was a favorite way to spend the day. Kathy also loved dogs, and over the years she had many beloved companions. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in her backyard and loved solving jigsaw puzzles.
Kathy was a longtime employee of the University of Nebraska where she managed the UNL Dairy Store before retirement. She scooped countless ice cream cones at the store on east campus, the State Fair, and home football games.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bruce Vokoun and her children Jason Vokoun (wife Deanna), Heather Pralle (husband Jeremy), and Kevin Vokoun. Kathy has five grandchildren: Dietrich, Emma and Celeste Pralle; Clayton and Reed Vokoun.
A devoted mother to her children, especially her youngest Kevin who has Autism and profound disabilities: throughout her life Kathy was always his champion.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 6800 South 14th Street. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. A dessert reception will be held in the lower level of the funeral home, following the burial.
