Margie was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School. She went on to attend cosmetology school.
In October 1964, Margie married Douglas Kirchhoff. Together, they built a family with 3 sons and a business, working side by side for many years. Margie served as the office manager for their family-owned company, D & M Electric. She also worked at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
Margie had a gift for making people feel welcome and heard. She had a sense of humor and could strike up a conversation with anyone—whether a close friend or someone she had just met. Her warmth and kindness were constant and genuine.
She treasured time with her family and took great joy in hosting holidays, where her home was always filled with love, food, and lively conversation. She especially adored her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Margie enjoyed traveling, and some of her favorite memories were made on cruises and trips to Vegas with Doug or with her sisters and mother. At home, she took great pride in her yard and garden, particularly her flowers, which she tended with love and care.
She was preceded in death by her father Leroy Dietz, her mother Virginia Dietz (Voss), and her husband Douglas Kirchhoff. Margie is survived by her sons, Randall Kirchhoff, Richard (Deb) Kirchhoff, and Bryan (Julie) Kirchhoff; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Kirchhoff, Tanner Kirchhoff, Brenna Stanley (Kirchhoff), Christopher Kirchhoff, Jakob Kirchhoff, and Cole Kirchhoff; and her sisters, Carolyn Dietz, Janie Bargman, and Susie Scott.
Margie’s presence was a blessing to all who knew her. She leaves behind a family who cherished her and a lifetime of memories filled with kindness, strength, and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A private gravesite celebration of life will be held for her family on July 8.
Memorials can be sent in Margie’s honor to Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach
