Grandma was the “Queen Bee” of our BIG family that just continues to grow. She was the kind of person whose love grew in her heart with each person she met.
She brought us together and taught us what unconditional love truly means. Her number one priority during the years we had with her was always her family. She was dad’s best caregiver, lover of all the grand kids, and great grand kids. Grandma also worked for 25 years as a cook at Hamlow elementary school, where she first learned to cook for large number of children. Being at home with Grandma it was very hard for her to learn to “minimize” her cooking skills and only feed a family of 5. As many of us know, she always made plenty of extra’s to keep everyone’s bellies full. We will all miss her baking and all the extra’s she would send home each family after every event we were lucky enough to spend with her. With some of our favorites being Kolaches, cinnamon rolls, her cookies and cupcakes. Oh, and don’t forget the famous potato salad, cheese goop and her infamous tang filled with a little big of sugar.
Margie was also known throughout the community of Waverly. She was up with the chickens around 4 am to do her morning walk around Wayne park, where she would run into neighbors to chit chat, catch up, or gossip whatever it was, but she always made it back home before grandpa was ready for the breakfast that she made him every day. She had the biggest smile, greeted everyone with the biggest waves, or “Yoo hoo’s” and always knew what was going on in town, mostly because her nose was always out the window. Driving by her house just won’t be the same anymore, there was always a car in the driveway, either grandma or grandpa out working in the yard, cleaning the windows or scooping the snow when she knew darn well, she shouldn’t be. . Margie is survived by her loving children, Debra (Bob Hansel) Stickney, Sharon (Jeff) Ryan, Susan Kriefels; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Margie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Frank Rezac.
