Marie Elizabeth (Achtemeier) Davidson, 87, was born on the family farm outside Jansen, Nebraska, to William and Anna (Wegele) Achtemeier. She passed away on February 21, 2016. After completing Normal Training and graduating from Alexandria High School, she taught in country school for three years. Marie married Wilmer Davidson on May 23, 1948. She worked retail at Gold’s/Younkers for 34 years. Marie enjoyed time with her family, needlework, playing cards, reading, and visits with her sisters. A selfless person with a generous heart, she was always more concerned about others than herself, was dearly loved, and will be missed.
Survivors: daughters Carlyn (David) Toland, Arizona; Barbara (Don) Villanueva and Jeanne (Ron) Holdren, Lincoln; sisters, Vera Mathieson and Donna Mae Bedlan, Hebron; sister-in-law, Minnie Achtemeier; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilmer; granddaughter, Teresa Marie; brothers, Harry and Vernon; sisters, Lillian and Edna.
