OBITUARY

Marilyn C. Heinzman

May 3, 1937June 8, 2019

Marilyn C. Heinzman passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Born in Hildreth, NE to George and Grace Tjaden in 1938, she married Robert H. Heinzman in 1953 at Kearney, moving to Grand Island and settling in Lincoln in 1962. Born to Marilyn and Bob were six children: Roberta, Randy, David, Kathy, Kent and Russell. After Kathy’s death in 1997, her two grandsons, Josh Breeden and Jay Gilmore were welcomed into the family’s home.

Marilyn worked at a number of businesses in Lincoln, the longest being Square D where she retired in 1997 to raise her grandsons. She loved serving in church children ministries and was a constant companion and partner with her husband Bob for 66 years. Marilyn’s life at times was difficult, but it developed in her character and compassion for anyone who was lost or alone. A life of caring and service endeared her to her family and friends. Her going home has left a void that will not be filled.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Tjaden, her stepfather, Earl Anderson, sisters Romaine and Barbara, brother Wesley, daughter Kathy and grandchildren, Danielle and Bradley. She is survived by her husband, Robert, daughter Roberta, sons Randy, David, Kent, Russell, Josh and Jay, sister Teresa, brother Terry, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Services will be Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church (1800 S. 84th Street) in Lincoln. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park on Thursday at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 12th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home

Dear Heinzman Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Grief is so hard and yet there is a blessing knowing that Marilyn is now with Jesus, Kathy and other loved ones where there is no pain or sorrow. When I think of Marilyn I think of the following attributes; beautiful, gentle, kind, caring, loving, hard working, non-judgemental, persevering, self sacrificing, unassuming, and an excellent cook. I see so many of these attributes in each of you. Please know my love and prayers are with you.
Love,
Suzi Roberts

I loved when we went down to the Bethany parade with Mikeal. We had such fun! Making food in your kitchen. The super special sack you made at Halloween for us grandkids. Your hugs, your smile, rubbing our noses together, kissing your forehead, the way I would lay my head on your lap and you would brush your hand down my hair. So many memories full of love!! You will be missed by so many!!
