Marilynn K Woodside (Woody) Shaw, 87, of Lincoln, NE passed away on Thursday, July 25th. Marilynn was born in Lincoln on March 1st, 1937 to Willard and Pauline Woodside. Marilynn worked for the State Legislature, Nebraska Realtors Association, Centel and the Bryan Hospital Diabetes Center among others. She was proud to be a Lincoln Northeast Rocket and was recognized with others for her volunteer work in 2007 creating a caregiver guidebook and training for people with aging loved ones. She had a beautiful spirit, a salty wit and a gift for sarcasm that will be missed by all who knew her.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents, long term companion Terry Barton and son Gregg Shaw. She is survived her son Scott Shaw, daughter-in-law (DIL) Marla Shaw, grandsons Hogan Shaw and Justin Shaw. Marilynn is also survived by Terry’s daughter Pamela Johnson and fiancé Troy Thompson, granddaughter Amber Fountain, grandson David Johnson and great grandson KeyShaun Wynn.
A celebration of Marilynn’s life will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, July 30th at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home at 6800 S. 14th, Lincoln, NE. Visitation Monday, July 29, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at funeral home. Memorials to American Cancer Society, Lincoln Parks and Recreation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
