In 1936, the family moved to Lincoln where she attended school and graduated from Lincoln High in 1953.
Mary was married to Eugene C. Maul in June 1958 and to this union, two sons, Raymond E. and Bruce A. were born. Mary worked for Nebraska Salesbook in Lincoln from 1953 to 1966 when the family relocated to Aurora, Ne for Gene’s business (co-owner Century Mfg). In Aurora she worked for Hamilton Telephone Company, Nedelco Service, Hutchison Service and from 1995 to 2008 at the Edgerton Explorit Center. Mary was also a bookkeeper for the Aurora Country Club from March 1981 to March 2018. Mary became a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in 2000. In 2008 she became the part-time Secretary and served as Treasurer (2004-2020). She was the Chair of the Mission Committee. Mary was one of the co-founders of the Hamilton County Backpack, whose mission was to send food home to families each weekend. This was founded in 2009 and continues to this day.
Mary became a member of Beta Sigma Phi (RhoMaster Chapter) in 1975. She was also a member of COPE Substance Abuse Prevention group in Hamilton County. Mary served for the Committee on Ministry for Central Nebraska Presbytery, on the committee and as the secretary, which ended in 2018.
Preceding her in death were her parents Edward and Mildred Hollett, brother Donald E Hollett, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and great-grandson Kingston Maul.
Survivors include sons Raymond (Shelly) Maul of Aurora and Bruce (Kathy) Maul of Eagle. Grandchildren: Brandon Maul of Papillion, Ashley (Ben) Allen of Douglas, Amber (Cameron) Cleland of Palmyra, Greg Maul of Aurora, Sarah Maul of Omaha, and Paris Maul of Lincoln. Great-grandchildren: Sylvia Rutmanis, Jackie Allen, Karter Allen, Ava Allen, Kole Allen, Alex Cleland, Knox Cleland, Amalee Cleland, Hattie Cleland, Cashton Maul, and Dayton Maul. As well as many cousins and friends.
A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, February 5, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE.
