Maxine Shirley (Fuehring) Johnson passed away on July 2nd in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 95. She was born February 15, 1930, in Seward, Nebraska to Edgar and Bertha Fuehring. She grew up on a farm in Seward County and attended a one-room, country schoolhouse. Maxine graduated from Seward High School in 1947 and attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where she met her husband. She married Robert Johnson on November 26, 1949. Together, they raised five boys: Stephen, Craig, Mark, Brian and Eric. The couple 1st lived in Tilden, Nebraska and moved from there to Wayne, Nebraska for Robert’s work as a pharmacist. After fifteen years in Wayne, the family relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1970, again for Robert’s work. Maxine lived in her Lincoln home for fifty-five years and until she passed.
Following Robert’s death in 1974, Maxine worked outside the home at National Bank of Commerce as a teller until she retired at age sixty. She was independent and had a passion for life.
