Michael Lloyd Nannen, 58 of Lincoln, NE entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2020 after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer. Mike graduated from Southeast High School in Lincoln, NE in 1980, attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. In July 1982, Mike married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Marrie M. Nannen (Christensen). They celebrated their 38th anniversary on July 10th of this year. Shortly after graduating, Mike began employment at Dallman’s IGA Grocery store in Lincoln, NE. Mike’s ability to work with people propelled him to continue using his people skills for the next 20 years, working for Nash Finch Company, in Beatrice, York, Lincoln and Omaha. Mike was presented with an opportunity to transition to wine and spirits so he joined Johnson Brothers and later transitioned to a management role with Sterling/Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits for the remainder of his career. There have been numerous awarded trips throughout his career because of his work ethic, his dedication to achieve and surpass company goals, but mostly because he had a genuine and sincere ability to connect with anyone he met. While providing for his family was very important to Mike, it was not the most important. His core family and extended family meant the world to him and he showed them that love every single day and was so proud of his boys, their accomplishments, and the fact they could never beat him in golf. He will be remembered for his big personality, love of family and friends, career and work culture accomplishments and his amazing smile. He had a life long affair with the Philadelphia Eagles (FLY EAGLES FLY), the Nebraska Huskers, homemade German Chocolate cake and Peevo. Mike is survived by his wife Marrie, sons, Christopher Lloyd Nannen (Natalee Slingsby) of Ceresco, NE and Tyler John Nannen, daughter-in-law Melissa (Dakan) Nannen of Lincoln, NE, daughter Elizabeth Marrie Nannen of Lincoln, NE, his siblings and their spouses, Rhonda and Chris Riha of Grand Island, Theresa and Bob Homan of Omaha, Joe Nannen of Lincoln, John and Melissa Nannen of North Little Rock, AR, and Daehoon Kim and Minhee Chang-Kim of Auburn, AL, mother-in-law, Marrie M Christensen, father-in-law, Gerald R Christensen, brother-in-law John and Anne Christensen, all of Lincoln, sister-in-law Martha J and David Story of AK, several nieces and nephews who adored their uncle Mike.
Mike was preceded in death by daughter Mikaela Ann Nannen, parents, Garry Nannen and Rose Marie Nannen.
