Murrel F Stevens, age 81 passed away on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 at his home in Martell, NE. Murrel was born in Denver, CO to Wayne and Gertrude Stevens. He married Kathleen Ann Miller on February 10th, 1962 in Hallam, NE. Murrel was a wrecker driver and shop owner in Lincoln, NE and eventually became a lifelong Farmer near Martell, NE. Murrel was a dedicated and loving husband and father.
Murrel is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathy; daughters Dottie Young (Chris) of Hallam, NE and Julie Stevens (Michael Smith) of China Grove, NC; Sisters: Margery Pickett of Gooding, ID; Janice O'Connor of Lincoln, NE; Ruth King (Bill) of Buffalo, MO; Bonnie Vaugh of Rural Hall, NC; Helen Matson of Beggs, OK; Betty Minor (Don) of Rossville, GA; Laura Brogan of McDonald, KS; Brothers: Sye Stevens (Sherry) of Phoenix, AR; Earl Stevens of McDonald, KS; John Stevens (Lynette) of Doylestown, OH; many other family members, countless special friends; and his faithful companion Kayla.
Murrel was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Robert and Dorothy Miller, Sisters Elva Price, Mildred Wright, Mary Crone, and Tammy Stevens.
A visitation for Murrel will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Hallam Methodist Church, 500 Main Street, Hallam, NE.
