

Nancy B. Laws Forsgren, age 73, of Hackensack, MN, formerly of Lincoln, NE, passed away on July 5, 2026, at home, with family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 14, 1952, in Shelby, OH, to Gene and Margaret Laws.
Nancy graduated from Shelby High School, attended Ohio State University, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. She later worked in the medical field and was a wonderful homemaker. She was also a proud friend of Bill W. and celebrated 26 years of sobriety in February. On May 2, 1992, she married her husband, Chuck Forsgren. Together, they shared 34 beautiful years of marriage. They made their home in Lincoln, NE, before moving last year to Hackensack, MN, where she was warmly welcomed into the community, especially by her AA group and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Nancy had a deep passion for cooking, baking, sewing, and art. She was widely known for her kindness, her sense of humor, and the beautiful baby blankets and quilts she lovingly made for family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her daughter, Margaret Fortman of Rochester, NY; and her stepchildren, Tracy (Tim) Saddler and Jeremy Forsgren, all of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kammyle Jerry, Hannah Vattikonda, Vannessa Stefanski, Clarissa Heyward, Jacob Heyward, Tanner Bice, Emily Saddler, and Kylee Berger; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Kathy Laws, Stephanie Moore, and Sue (Gene) Sowinski, brothers in law Lynn (Deb) Forsgren, Roger Forsgren, sisters in law Sandy Forsgren, Tracy Forsgren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Margaret Laws, and her brothers-in-law, Gary Moore, Elden Forsgren, Dennis Forsgren, and sister-in-law Cindy Forsgren Montgomery.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on July 15th at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 6800 South 14th St., Lincoln, NE. With a celebration of life in Hackensack MN. later this summer.
