Ode to Nora Johnson
Nora Johnson is an outgoing pillar of strength,
And to help Grace Lutheran she would go to any length.
In the annals of the church she stands mighty tall,
Helping out whether it is winter, spring, summer or fall.
At almost any of the church gatherings where we meet,
Nora will be there preparing something to eat.
She cooks and stews and does a variety of things,
And even answers the phone when it rings.
But it is not only in the area of food preparation that she shines through,
But also in helping make quilts, she is active there, too.
Nora has served in many leadership roles,
And she is well aware of “for whom the bell tolls.”
She is not apt to be out front leading the parade,
But is more likely to be in the background, perhaps in the shade.
There are many things we could say about her that we like best,
But most of all, it is because she is always there meeting the test.
She is gracious and polite and a very gentle soul,
And with activities of the church, she fills every role.
There are many things about her that we could say,
But in the life of the church she is always there to hold sway.
By having her in our midst we are truly blest,
And in many areas, we think, correction, we know, she is the best.
