IN THE CARE OF
Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery
Norma Jean Becker was born September 16, 1927 in Talmage, Nebraska to Fred and Hazel Thiesfeld and passed away at age 94 in Hemet, California on Sept 28, 2021.
Norma Jean moved to Lincoln after graduating from high school and later went on to marry Arthur J Becker from Bayonne, New Jersey, and had 1 daughter Cyndi, born in 1956. Her husband Arthur passed away in 1972 and she worked at both the University of Nebraska and later at Lincoln Gas company for many years. She later moved to Santa Ana, California in 1980 along with her mother Hazel, and lived there until 1995 when she retired at age 68. She then sold her home and moved with her daughter and grandson to Temecula, California and live with them until 2010. She unfortunately had a fall in the home at age 83 which left her needing full time care. She lived at Manor Care Health Facility in Hemet, California until her death last September.
Norma Jean loved to read, do crossword puzzles and word searches but also loved to write and receive letters to keep up with friends and family. She continued to stay current on news, would watch a Nebraska football game if it came on her TV and always loved a good laugh. She was overall healthy until she came down with a serious bout with Covid-19 in 2020 which took a toll on her health. She is loved and missed by her daughter Cyndi Becker and grandson, Derek Becker along wit her extended family and friends.
A celebration of life for her final internment will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park (Mausoleum Chapel) on Saturday, May 21, 2022. The memorial gathering will begin at 10:30am with the final internment of the urn following at 11:30am at the placement site. Those who would like to attend are welcome.
