Paul W Hartman

Paul was born October 28, 1929, in Seward. His parents were Al and Laura (Duerr). He grew up in Lincoln with his siblings, Dave, Al, and Shirley. He outlived them all. Paul graduated from Lincoln Northeast and attended the University of Nebraska. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. For the last 60 years he lived in our family home on North 78th Street. He and Mom were married November 20, 1951. They were together until Mom passed in 2015. Sons Randy, Mark, and Todd grew up in that house. Paul died on March 14, 2024. Dad is survived by his sons and their wives, Doreen, Cathy, and Becky; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. His last few years were spent, as weather permitted, on his beloved front porch. He had wonderful 78th Street neighbors who joined him frequently on the porch and helped him navigate old age. Finally, he resided at Knolls Senior Living, where his last months were safe and comfortable. Dad, we will miss your wonderful stories we heard multiple times. We will miss how you could grill a steak perfectly in about three minutes per side. We will miss how you related to every child you met, especially your grandchildren. You never wanted to leave the house, and we’re sorry we couldn’t do that. But you also never wanted to leave Lincoln, and that we managed. Give Mom a hug for us.
