Randy Arms

Randy Dean Arms, age 55, of Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away September 20, 2026. Randy was born March 20, 1971, in Cambridge, Nebraska, to Avon and Linda (Butter) Arms of Arapahoe, Nebraska, and grew up as part of a large family.

From early on, Randy was adventurous, living life to the fullest, reveling in the unexpected, and sharing his love with family and friends.

In high school, Randy participated in football and wrestling and was a proud Arapahoe Warrior. He qualified for state wrestling and earned a football scholarship to Kearney State College. He was a gifted athlete and enjoyed all kinds of sports. Next to sports, Randy loved heavy metal and 80's music.

While Randy's early years started in Nebraska working different construction jobs and participating in extracurriculars, he eventually built a life in Arizona.

In 2009, Randy met his future wife, Dawn Walton, through her cousin, Christopher, one of Randy’s best friends. Their relationship flourished quickly and in 2011 Randy and Dawn had a destination wedding in Golden, Colorado, where they "first" met. The reception was held at a Murder/Mystery dinner theater venue- paying tribute to a life of adventures that were about to begin.

Randy and Dawn made their home in Arizona and there they raised two children, Joe and Kennison. Randy played taxi for the kids and their friends, to and from school, sporting events, or even random places they wanted to go. He was there for anything in which the kids were involved. He never missed a beat.

After their kids left for college, Randy supported Dawn in starting their own business and together they built a successful virtual accounting firm- working from home or even their favorite vacation spots, spending every precious moment together. They would leave spontaneously and go see the red dot quirks of each place they visited. They took in numerous rock concerts and were season ticket holders for several sports teams in Phoenix. Perhaps surprising to some, Randy would also attend stage and orchestral performances in the area to appease Dawn's crazy ideas, but ballet was a one and done. Randy would try pretty much anything.

Once Randy and Dawn became grandparents, he immersed himself in the lives of his grandchildren, welcoming them to their home over the summer, and traveling hundreds of miles to see them. Randy was down to do anything and everything that Dawn, his kids, or his grandkids wanted to do, offering his time and attention that will be remembered and missed. Randy was soon to welcome a new grandson, Colter Ray, and was so excited to get to share with him the memories and life of his brother Danny Ray.

Randy enjoyed making life fun. His eyes could sparkle in the darkness and his smile would give you life. Randy's family can recall so many stories of him, the wonderful things he did with them, and more memories made than can be recounted here. Those who knew and loved him are blessed with countless lasting memories to share and enjoy keeping his legacy alive.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Avon and Linda Arms; his father, John Martin; his brother, Danny Arms; his uncle, Donnie Butter, his mother-in-law Donna Walton, and his nephew Tanner Davison.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Arms; his son, Joe (Amanda) Arms; his daughter, Kennison (Cody) Evans; his grandchildren: Harlequinn Cadence, Weston Dean, Scarlett Viola, Penelope Jane, and soon-to-come Colter Ray; his sisters, Jonni (Scott) Gilbraith, Ronni (Glen) Harvey, Tammy (Mike) Sock, and Tera (John) Testerman; his brother, Don (Victoria) Martin; his father-in-law, Kenneth Walton; his very close friends, Scott Moore and Chris Walton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends that he loved dearly.

A Celebration of Randy's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 2, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. A reception will be held in the lower level of the funeral home immediately following the service.

The family asks in lieu of formal attire; guests wear jerseys or apparel of their favorite sports team or a concert Tee to celebrate Randy's love of sports and music.

Flowers and plants may be sent to the funeral home, and monetary memorials can be sent to the family to be used to fund a scholarship for Arapahoe High School in Randy's honor.
