Raymond E. Fruehling

Ray graduated from Filley High School in 1966. Ray attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and studied Journalism before deciding to enter the Marine Corps. Ray then entered the Marine Corps in 1968, graduated from Marine Corps boot camp at San Diego, CA. Married Sally Ann Hansen December 20, 1974 at Hope Community Church. He retired from the Marine Corps in October 1989 and moved to Lincoln, NE. He then went to work at Best Buy from 1989 until retiring in 2005 to spend time with his wife Sally.

Ray is survived by Daughter Cindy Fruehling of Lincoln, NE and Son Mark Fruehling of Lincoln, NE. Brothers in law Jim (Linda) Hansen of Beatrice; Mike (Elva) Hansen of Neosho, MO; Gary (Eunice) Hansen of Axtel, NE; Johnny Hansen of Beatrice, NE; Danny Hansen of Beatrice, NE. Sisters in law Vivian Fruehling of Salt Lake City, UT; Sharon Hansen of York, NE. Step granddaughter Alexis Thrasher (Dustin) McCormick of Lincoln, NE. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife Sally Ann Fruehling, parents Andrew and Laura Fruehling, parent in laws Alvin and Ortha Hansen, two brothers Gail Fruehling and Melvin Fruehling, Brother in law Jerry Hansen, Sister in law Nina Fruehling.

Services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th St, Lincoln, NE, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Lincoln Memorial from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Internment will be at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Memorials in the care of the family for future designation.
