Ray P. Herweg, 63, of Lincoln, passed away, Monday, 10/29/18. Born in Burlington, IA to Mark & Eila Mae (Burk) Herweg Jr.. Graduated with a BSCE in Civil Engineering, Iowa State University in 1977 and went on to receive an MBA in Management/Marketing with honors, Creighton University in 1990. He was a Senior Civil Project Engineer at Leo A. Daly in Omaha and in addition as a project/area manager with firms in Omaha, Las Vegas and Kansas City. He was a member of American Council of Engineering Companies (NE, KS, MO, NV), Nebraska /Nevada Society of Professional Engineers, American Public Works Association. Also received Governor's Honorary Admiralship in Nebraska Navy. Ray was a consummate outdoorsman doing landscaping, working in the yard and any outdoor planting. He loved the Vegas highlife while residing there with Lori. He had a love for all sports including coaching, playing baseball, football and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones. Family gatherings and holidays were especially enjoyed by him.Survived by companion Lori Lachance of Lincoln, Brothers Mark Herweg and special friend Elouise Hagberg of Chicago, IL, Dave (Patti) Herweg of Buffalo, NY, extended family Marcie Lachance, Lisa and Luke Peterson, and several nieces and nephews.
