Robert Otto Steinberger

Bob, 98, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away in his home on August 28, 2026. Bob was born to Otto and Ilda (Wacha) in Schuyler, Nebraska. He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1946. He attended the University of Nebraska from 1949 - 1951. He was a member of the Husker baseball team in 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1951 - 1953 during the Korean War.

Bob married his great love, Camilla 'Toots' Molacek in February 1952. They had three children; John (Nancy Peters), Christine Riner, Mark (Paula Kosta) all of Lincoln. Five grandchildren; Renee (Scott Hauser), Katherine (Adam Anderson), Sam Steinberger, Adam Steinberger and Tyler (Ceci Barr) Steinberger all of Lincoln. Four great-grandchildren; Aurora and Preston Hauser, Finn and Isla Anderson.

Bob was employed by Hinky Dinky Super Market as a General Manager for 29 years and later 12 years as a registered insurance agent.

He enjoyed dancing to Big Band sounds at area ballrooms. He loved fishing, hunting and attending baseball games with his sons. He was a UNL sports fan of volleyball, baseball and football.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Camilla, his parents Otto and Ilda, his sister Phyllis 'Mitzie" and brother-in-law Terry Robb.

A private graveside service will be held.
