

Our dear husband and father, Rodger Lee Lambert, Sr., made his journey to rest with Jesus on Dec. 19, 2016. Born on April 12, 1941 in a coal camp in Freeburn, KY, Rodger was the son of a coal-mining family and raised in the mountains of Kentucky and West Virginia. He met and married the love of his life, Velma (Hopkins) Lambert, on Sept 11, 1964 and had three beautiful sons. Rodger and Velma shared 54 wonderful years together and his life was filled with joy of the family who loved him dearly. He loved blue-grass, country & western, and rock n roll music, old westerns, garage sales, The Huskers, playing the odds, saving a dollar, and cherishing time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley & Betty Lambert; brothers: James, Bill, and Clifford Lambert; and sister Eula Faith Putoff. He is survived by his wife, Velma, sons Rodger Jr. Jonathan & Matthew Lambert and (Sandi Marlow), brothers: William Anthony Lambert, sister: Delores Jean Blankenship, and Patricia Ann Lambert, grandchildren: Aubriona Renee Lambert, Colin Nash Lambert, Liberty Bixenmann, Joshua and Amy (Salisbury) Lambert , Ty Marlow, Greatgrandchildren: Corey and Thea Lambert and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4-8 pm Dec 22, 2016 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
