Roger Peter Mars

He was born on May 15, 1954 to Lawrence and Julia (Morrissey) Mars in Grand Island, NE.

Roger married Jackie Johnson on October 30, 1970. To this union 3 children were born. He was a longtime teamster member and an over the road truck driver for 20+ years.

He was a Veteran of the U.S Army and proudly served our country.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching a good Husker football game. His most pleasurable moments were the times spent with his family and attending the many activities his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were involved in.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughters, Michelle (Brandon) Gilliland, Melissa (Greg) Schmelzer and Sheila (Gail) Snyder, 9 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Pat (Joe) Epp, Carolyn (Ron) Blow, brother in law Jerry Smith and sister in law Lynn Mars. He’s also

survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents,

Lawrence and Julia Mars, brother, Tom Mars, sister, Marilyn Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at Lincoln Memorial Funeral

Home, 6800 S.14th St., Lincoln, NE. A burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
