Jacob Russell ("Russ") Jex, 39, passed away on July 10, 2016, in Lincoln, the result of liver failure, which he courageously and bravely battled. He was surrounded and comforted by his family. Russ was born on August 11, 1976, in Salt Lake City, UT, to R. Kent and Terri N. (Peay) Jex. He lived in Salt Lake City and Rochester, MN, before moving to Lincoln in 1990. Russ graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1995 and attended the University of Nebraska -- Lincoln and Southeast Community College, receiving a degree in Business Administration and Finance. He worked for the Nebraska Heart Institute from 2000 to 2015. Russ married Jennifer Wagner, his high school sweetheart, on December 15, 1995, and the couple had two daughters, Bailey (20) and Brady (15), and two sons, Barrett (10) and Brody (8), who he loved dearly and will be missed by. Russ was an avid sportsman, enjoying golf, volleyball, baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. Just to name a few. Thanks to his upbringing in Rochester, he was a die-hard Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan. He was also known to bleed "Husker Red" from time to time. Russ also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish during the summer and ski during the winter. Russ is survived by his grandmother Lori Peay of Randlett, UT; parents; wife; children; brother Jared Jex of Salt Lake City; sister Rebecca Jex of Washington, D.C.; sister and brother-in-law Shannon and Ben Sieck of Lincoln; sister and brother-in-law Ashley and Justin Fullerton of Breckenridge, CO; grandmother-in-law Margaret Kennedy of Craig, NE; parent in-laws Rod and Diane Wagner of Lincoln; brother in-law and brother-in-law's girlfriend Brian Wagner and Shannon Brewer of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law and brother-in-law's wife Jim and Emily Wagner of Covington, LA; nieces and nephews Carter, Collin, Sierra, and Riley Jex; Sadie, Brynlee, and William Sieck; Jayden and Sylas Fullerton; and Elivette and Elyse Wagner; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
