Sarah L. (Lintz) Hopkins, 50, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on July 26, 2016. She was joyously welcomed into eternal life by her Savior, Jesus Christ. Sarah was born in Lakewood, California on March 23rd, 1966 to Margaret E. and Kenneth J. Lintz. Sarah moved with her family to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1971. She was a 1984 graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School and graduate of UNL. Sarah married Darrel R. Hopkins on October 7, 1995, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. During their 20 years of blissful marriage, three children were born; Alexandra, Nathaniel, and Hannah. Sarah loved her family fiercely and dedicated her life to their care and well-being.
Sarah’s vocations included wife, mother, homeschool teacher, Sunday school teacher, and VBS teacher. She was involved in Redeemer’s Bible Study classes, Chancel Guild, Board for Human Care, and Moms Encouraging Moms; Heartland Homeschool and Down Syndrome Association for Families. Some of her favorite hobbies included hiking, gardening, bird feeding, reading, and family vacations.
Survived by her husband and three children; father and step mother Ken and Suzanne Lintz of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother Doug (Annette) Lintz and children Andrik and Laykin of Kearney, Nebraska; brother Mike (Brandi) Lintz and children Scarlett and Michael of Olathe, Kansas; Aunt Sarah (Houston) Doan of Lincoln, Nebraska; Aunt JoAnne Wilhelm of Lincoln, Nebraska; Aunt Mary (Larry) Clark of Henderson, Nevada; Uncle Larry Taylor of Palm Desert, California; brother- and sister-in-laws Patricia and Melvin Moore of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ken and Kathie Hopkins of Fort Collins, Colorado; Richard and Jolene Hejsek of Seattle, Washington; Diane Hopkins of Bismark, North Dakota; nieces and nephews Erica Moore and children Briley, Jordan, Kaylea, Jeslyn, Jahnye of Lincoln, Nebraska; Katrina and Andrew Landry of Houston, Texas; Sarah and Ian Black of Omaha, Nebraska; Kirk and Tiffany Vanosdall and children Ainsley, Sullivan, and Kadence of Springfield, Nebraska; and many cousins. Preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Taylor) Lintz, her grandparents Ruth & Wilber Lintz, and Ross & S. Jeanette Taylor, mother and father-in-law Dorothy & Carrol Hopkins, Uncle Robert Lintz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 510 S. 33rd. Visitation at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 So. 14th St. from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 29. Burial: Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, can be directed to Redeemer Lutheran (Good Samaritan Fund) or Lincoln Pregnancy Center.
