Sharon "Sherry" Faye Martin, age 71, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. Sherry was born July 9, 1952 to William and Eunice Newell. Sherry is survived by her loving children, Justin Martin, Kristin (Chris) Deal; brother, Ed (Barb) Newell; grandchildren, Eli Deal, Taylor Deal; companion, David Nelson; many other relatives and friends.
Sherry was a great mother, a wonderful grandmother, a cherished companion, and a good friend to many.
Those of us lucky enough to know her will remember her as the kind, laughing, generous woman who was always first in line to lend a hand. She would most enjoy quiet nights at home, taking care of her grandkids and grand-dogs, luncheons with her girlfriends and drives with her companion.
She retired from the Lincoln Racquet Club in 2014 after 26 years and enjoyed the peaceful post-work life. She downsized her home and was living in contentment. It was a sad discovery when doctors found her to have multiple myeloma, only to have it consume her a few short weeks later.
We know in our hearts, angels will escort her into the Kingdom of God where she will be reunited with her parents, brother, other family, and friends. She is immensely loved and will be greatly missed.
