Shirley A. Feldt, 78, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on June 19, 2026. She was born on August 6, 1947, in West Springfield, Massachusetts, to Libro and Phyllis Alfieri. When she was a young girl, Shirley's family moved to Lincoln, where she lived the rest of her life. Shirley graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965.
Shirley built a life marked by steady work and self-confidence. She began her working years at Miller and Paine as a cook and later dedicated 30 years to the National Guard as a civilian employee doing data entry work. After retiring, she went on to run her own business for more than 20 years—Shirley’s Sewing. She welcomed challenges and took pride in meeting them by sewing everything from wedding dresses to crafting leather attire. She proudly served people from all walks of life and many motorcycle riders in Lincoln. Her belief in herself was not simply a sentiment, but how she lived her life.
Shirley was married to Jackie Feldt, and together they welcomed one daughter, Robyn. After Jackie's passing, Shirley, her daughter, and her son-in-law lived together, and in their household of three, Shirley’s vote counted 51%. Shirley and Robyn were best friends; they lunched together every day during Robyn’s meal break from work. Saturdays were set aside for to run errands and spent most of the day together.
Shirley found joy in the things she loved most. She treasured her collection of Mickey and Minnie Mouse memorabilia, and she was an avid Nebraska football and volleyball fan with many collectible Husker items. She also enjoyed Bingo nights at Superior Bingo on 48th Street, where the simple pleasure of community and tradition made for evenings well spent.
Shirley was preceded in death by her best friend, her daughter, Robyn T. Feldt; her husband, Jackie; her parents, Libro and Phyllis Alfieri; and her brothers, Richard and Robert Alfieri. She is survived by her son-in-law, Shannon Plumb, and her sister, Jean Scholer.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska, with a reception at the funeral home following the service.
