Shirley L Jansky

Shirley (Oberhelman) Jansky, 87, passed away on June 2, 2026, at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born on June 2, 1939, in Fairbury, Nebraska, to Frank Oberhelman and Mary (Knocke) Oberhelman-Littrell.

Shirley grew up in Fairbury, Nebraska. She graduated from Fairbury High School in 1957. After high school, she married the love of her life, Bob Jansky, and together they raised their family.

Shirley married Robert Jansky in 1957 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Fairbury, Nebraska. They began their married life in Lincoln, Nebraska, where they lived for 13 years before moving to Auburn, Nebraska. After 28 years, they moved back to Lincoln, where she lived until her passing.

She was a part-time employee of Auburn Public Schools, but most of her time was devoted to her family. She was an amazing mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma (G.G.).

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Jansky, her parents, and brother LeRoy of Hastings, Nebraska, and sisters Irene Beu and Phyllis Watson or Fairbury, Nebraska.

Shirley is survived by her children, Martin (Doris) Jansky, Valeri (Mark) Gillan, Randal (Jennifer) Jansky, Christine (Kent) Obrist. Grandchildren, Nickolas (Cassie) Gillan, Robert Gillan, Casey Jansky, Jordan (Dell) Pearson, Ashleigh (Titus) Tvrdy, Jessica Obrist and Logan Schatz. Great grandchildren, Wesley, Bennett, Rigley Pearson and Xander Tvrdy. Nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 22, 2026, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1940 S 77th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date in Milligan, Nebraska.
