

Steven Lawrence Blum passed away on June 15, 2025. He was born in Lincoln on February 16, 1951 to Lawrence and Bette (Jordan) Blum. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Steve spent the majority of his professional career working in the Bay Area of California where he designed several cherished and iconic community libraries in San Jose, CA.
He is survived by his children Kellie and Dylan, both of San Jose, CA; his sisters, Cindy (Herb) Upshaw of Lenexa, KS and Karen (David) Williams of Overland Park, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steve was a beloved father, brother, and friend, known for his unending humor, quick wit, bright smile, and deep kindness. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who loved him.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal services are planned, but those who knew him are encouraged to share a memory or raise a glass in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Capital Humane Society, where he adopted his beloved dog, Yumi.
