Ted Fastabend, 97, of Lincoln, passed away June 18, 2019. He was born on February, 27, 1922 to Henry and Mary (Gillispie) Fastabend in Lincoln. Ted signed up for military service the day after Pearl Harbor and served his country for four years during WWII in the Army Air Corps. He was united in marriage to Phyllis for nearly 66 years, together they enjoyed many years of dancing. During retirement Ted enjoyed making model airplanes, he made over 250 of them, which are on display at several museums across the country.
Survivors include his loving daughter Patsy (Steve) Bossomo of Foristell, MO; grandchildren, Amy (Earl) Willenbrock of Arnold, MO; Bob (Abby) Hooley of Foristell, MO; Stephen Bossomo of O’Fallon, MO; and Andrew Bossomo of St. Peters, MO; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Brinley, Madeline and Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Phyllis, his brother Henry, his sister Betty and special nieces Denise Worley and Carol Hill.
Services will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Eastmont in Lincoln.
