Ted grew up in Marysville, KS and graduated in 1957 from Marysville High School in Kansas. He was married to Pauline (Polly) Henderson for 53 years and lived in Lincoln with his family the past 62 years. He worked from an early age in a variety of careers, as a meat cutter for Hinky Dinky, and Electronics Technician with the Nebraska Army National Guard, where he retired after 31 years as CW2. He finished his career life working at the Nebraska Department of Roads maintenance HQ in Lincoln, NE for 10 years.
Following the death of his wife, Ted kept himself occupied by joining local organizations including the Rock Creek Renegades, Cushman Club, and Knights of Columbus where he worked, played, and made many good friends. Ted was a devoted husband, father to four sons, grandfather to seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He enjoyed many activities with his sons, family, and friends, including BBQ competitions, hunting, camping, working at the fireworks stand each year with the KOC and supporting his sons and their families in all their endeavors. He was very proud of his four sons, who all followed his lead and served in the Nebraska National Guard as well. He never stopped finding ways to keep busy, including his final desire to learn to play guitar in his last few years of life. He had many friends throughout his life, whom he was always willing to visit or help no matter the time or circumstances.
