OBITUARY

Thomas Joseph Scdoris

February 27, 1953April 5, 2021

Born 2-27-1953 in Lincoln, NE to Edgar and Rosella Scdoris. Tom and Joan Perkinton were high school sweethearts and married in 1972. Tom served in the U.S. Navy and after his service, Tom and Joan settled in Lincoln where their family grew to 5 children.

Tom loved hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time with his family and his Catholic faith. He was a great evangelizer and wanted everyone to know Jesus. Tom cherished being up on the altar serving Jesus as an acolyte at St. John's. He worked for the post office for 28 years and thoroughly enjoyed his walking routes. Havelock knew him as the "Happy Postman"! Tom never met a stranger and his door was always open.

Tom is survived by his wife, Joan, their children, Jennifer (Archibald) Guptill, Tommy (Audrey), John (Meghan), Mary (Matt) Culjat, Joseph (Mandi), 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Kay Mailander, Rosemary York, John (Judy), Ed (Karen), Jody Wilcox, Catherine King and Jim (Judy). Tom is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patty and son Gabriel.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be sent to either St. John's Lincoln School Endowment or Villa Marie School Foundation.

Tom was a devout and loving person. I had the honor of serving at Mass many times with him when he was an Acolyte. He never failed to have a kind word to the people around him. He will be missed.

My prayers go out to all the Scdoris family members. I’ve known Tom since grade school. Tom will be missed by myself and so many family and friends. Tom is home in Heaven with family singing praises to the Lord. 2 Cor 5:8 says “...we are full of confidence and would much rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”
