Vera A. Savage

Vera Ann Savage passed away on May 24, 2026 after a brief illness. Vera was born November 6, 1937 in Wymore, Nebraska to Thomas Humphreys and Ila Zugmeir Humphreys. She grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from Teacher’s College High School in 1954.

Vera married William (Bill) E. Savage Sr. of North Platte, Nebraska on October 20,1956. Vera and Bill had three children Cheryl, William Jr., and Deborah. She devoted herself to the raising of her family and the management of the household. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and watching television.

Survivors include daughter Cheryl of Omaha, Nebraska, daughter Deborah (Gary) Kipp of Omaha, Nebraska, grandson, Gregory Kipp and granddaughter, Catherine Kipp;

Vera was preceded in death by her son, William E. Savage, Jr, her parents, as well as her sisters Marcille Williams and Lucille Knopp. Vera will be dearly missed by family, good friends, and caregivers. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be sent to St. Jude Research Hospital. A private memorial service was held at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on June 2nd.
