Wandalee E. Reinhold passed peacefully unto our Heavenly Father at home in Hastings, Nebraska. She was born in Syracuse, NE on July 11 1930. She was a daughter, sister, wife and mother. She grew up in Unadilla, NE and married her high school sweetheart, Don, at age 18.
Wandalee spent time volunteering with the VFW while Don was enlisted in the Air Force. She enjoyed the travelling that came with deployments at different bases around the U.S. while Don was in service. After his Air Force service, she worked as a bookkeeper while Don attended college at University of Nebraska. After his graduation, the two of them traveled and lived in various places in the States, wherever the project took them. Don and Wandalee eventually settled in Columbus, NE to raise a family. Wandalee continued volunteering with the VFW, and added volunteering at various church functions and social events, all the while helping Don raise their family. Don’s career advancement later brought the family to Lincoln, NE where they lived until Don retired from the gas company.
Retirement for them was soon filled with travel, fun times with friends and grandkids. When Don passed, Wandalee moved to Hastings, NE to be close to family and enjoy small-town living again. She enjoyed puzzles, novels, old movies and visits from neighbors and friends.
She was reunited with Don on Monday, October 28, 2024. Wandalee’s family includes her son Dale (Shelly), her daughter Diane Howard (Dave), grandchildren Kala (Kendall), Alex, Ryan, Rob (Kayla), Nathan (Shawna), Brennan (Falon), and great grandchildren Gaige, Nova and Tommy.
We will miss you Mom, Godspeed.
There will be a graveside service to celebrate her life on November 8, 2024 at Lincoln Memorial in Lincoln NE at 2:00 pm.
