Wayne C Bauer

Wayne Clarence Bauer, 89, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on June 4, 2026. Born on September 7, 1936, in Kankakee, Illinois, he was the son of Clarence and Lucille (Winterroth) Bauer. He was raised on a farm near Herscher, Illinois, where he graduated from high school.

Wayne devoted much of his career to farming and the animal health industry, selling feed and pharmaceuticals to livestock farmers. His work kept him traveling for many years, and he valued the relationships he built along the way.

Wayne loved the outdoors, whether working the land, tending gardens, or creating beautiful landscapes. Over the years, he gave countless hours to caring for public flower gardens in the communities he called home.

In his later years, Wayne enjoyed playing cards and shuffleboard at The Legacy, where he made many cherished friendships.

Wayne married Constance Cassaday in 1956, and together they had four children: Cynthia (Cindy), Michael (Mike), David, and Richard (Rick). In the mid-1980s, he accepted a position in Omaha and made Nebraska his home for the rest of his life.

Wayne met Lela (Egger) Creevan in 1985, and they married in 1989. They lived in Blair, Nebraska, until moving to Lincoln in 2007.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Christine Bauer; his son, Michael Bauer; his granddaughters, Madison Williams and Lindsey Kirk and daughter-in-law Heather Creevan.

He is survived by his wife, Lela; his sons, David (Lisa) Bauer and Rick (Kelly) Bauer; his daughter, Cindy Wallace; his stepson, Kevin Creevan; his stepdaughters, Carrie Williams (Tom Renninger) and Julie (Pat) Kirk; his grandchildren, Cassie (Sean) Stone, Zach (Ellie) Bauer, Hunter Bauer, Hannah Bauer, Elijah Bauer, Jared Williams, Mason Williams, Logan Kirk, Casey Kirk, Dustin Kirk, Jasmine Creevan, and Jordan (Maggie) Sorge, and his great-grandchildren, Cooper Stone, Emme Stone, Peter Sorge, and Arthur Sorge.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on June 26, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512.
