September 19th, 1977 – February 15th, 2022
Zachery Tyson Way, 44, a lifelong resident of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, surrounded by his family. Zac was born on September 19th, 1977, in Lincoln to Rodney and Janene (Olcott) Way. He graduated from Lincoln High in 1996. Zac went on to pursue an associate degree in Machine, Tool, and Dye at Southeast Community College in Milford.
He has been employed at SourceOne in Lincoln for over 20 years.
Zac was an avid sportsman. He hunted deer, elk, and waterfowl, among many others. He enjoyed paddle and bow fishing. Zac was a talented cook and grill master. He especially loved spending time with family and friends and hanging out with his nephews.
He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, loving heart, and generosity. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for those he loved. He was warm-hearted and never knew a stranger.
Zac was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Way.
He is survived by his mother, Janene Way; sister, Nicky (John) Bussen; nephews, Hunter and Chase Bussen, all of Lincoln; uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 21st, starting 9:30 a.m. at Southview Baptist Church, 3434 South 13th St. Funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow for family and friends. Internment is at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park, 6800 South 14th St. For those who are unable to attend, services will be livestreamed at southviewbaptist.org/live.
