

Born in Elizabeth, to her late parents Albert and Catherine Matlosz, she moved to Cranbury, where she attended Grammar school. After returning back to Elizabeth she attended Grover Cleveland Jr. High and graduated from Battin High School.
After her graduation, she was employed as a CPC-3 Messenger during WW II until VE and VJ days were declared.
Adele retired from from the Union County Board of Social Services as a Secretary to the Director in 1989.
She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert RC Church in Elizabeth. Member of St. Theresa Women's Club, Knitting Ministry, St. Cecelia's choir, sang with the Masterwork Choral Group in the performance of Handel's Messiah, Carnegie Hall. She was also a member of St. Peter Leisure Club, St. Hedwig's Seniors, and served as a Chaplain for Chapter 91, PLAV Auxiliary.
Adele enjoyed bowling in several leagues and had a high score of 267. Other hobbies included baking cookies for family and friends and making Christmas crafts.
Adele was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Horbacz (2018), her siblings, John, Joseph, Augustyn, Anthony, Tadeusz, Genevieve Walter, Stella Crowley and Mary Wincklhofer.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 10:00 am from Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, Linden. Funeral mass St. Adalbert RC Church, Elizabeth 11:00 am, followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Linden.
