

Born on May 17, 1933, in Livi, Ukraine, Anna was the daughter of the late Theodore and Maria Muryn. She married her husband, Kornel Hewko, in 1954, and together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2010.
In 1950, Anna and her family immigrated to the United States where her family started a new life. She worked, learned to speak, and write English in order to help support her family's new life. Anna was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was known for her kindness, wisdom, warm smile, and her ability to make everyone feel loved and at home.
In her free time, Anna enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, baking, watching game shows and Judge Judy. Most of all, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
Anna is survived by her sons, Stefan and Roman and his wife Amelia; her 3 grandchildren, Heather Thomas and her husband Christopher, Amber Matlosz and her husband Matthew, and Anthony Fernandes and his Wife Kelly, her Great Grandchildren Ethan and Caleb Thomas. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kornel, and her brother, Ivan, and sister Ahafia.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, Linden, NJ. The following day a final viewing will take place starting at 8:30 am following a Mass of Byzantine Catholic Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir's Church, followed by interment at St. Gertrude's Cemetery.
Anna's legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the St. Jude Children Hospital or Wounded Warrior's in Anna’s memory.
