Anthony D. Bottitta

Mr. Bottitta was born, raised and resided in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In 1969, he started PJ Subs on Sheridan Avenue in Elizabeth with his brother Christopher, and sister Eileen, eventually running the Peacock PX Luncheonette in the Boorum & Pease building on Newark Avenue with his wife, Nancy. Eventually, Anthony would move on to become the Zoning Officer for the city of Elizabeth in the late 1980’s, ultimately rising to the position of Building Superintendent for the City of Elizabeth, retiring in May of 2019.

Anthony’s kind and loving personality, easy-going disposition and ability to make everyone laugh endeared him to everyone he met.

He loved his family and friends, and one of the true joys of his life was going on vacation to his sister Eileen and brother-in-law Phil’s home on the island of Antigua, in the West Indies.

Anthony was predeceased by his wife, Nancy (nee Rinaldo), and is survived by his sister Eileen (Cotroneo), brother Christopher, sister Lisa and nephew PJ (Cotroneo).

Visitation for Anthony will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, 9:00 am from the funeral home. Funeral mass St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Elizabeth 10:00 am.
